The AeroTech Disposable Motor System DMS is a single-use motor in kit form that is assembled by the user. All of the Aerotech DMS motors use all-disposable components. The nozzle and propellant are already installed. You will need to set the desired delay time using the Universal Delay Drilling Tool (UDDT), Not Included, and then pour in the ejection charge. The Universal Delay Drilling Tool (UDDT) is required to adjust to a shorter time delay on all DMS rocket motors and is available in the AeroTech Accessories section of this website.

The I65W-PS is a Plugged/Smoke motor. Plugged reload kits do not utilize a motor-actuated ejection charge. Plugged motors must be used in conjunction with a timer, altimeter or radio-activated recovery system.

DMS motors feature a filament-wound fiberglass casing, a glass-reinforced composite phenolic nozzle, a molded plastic bulkhead and RCSs exclusive White Lightning™ aerospace grade composite propellant formulation, which produces a brilliant white flame with lots of dense white smoke and a throaty roar at lift-off.

This AeroTech motor pack comes with 1 rocket motor and 1 FirstFire™ Initiator. Requires HAZMAT shipping via UPS or FEDEX. The sale of this high power motor to persons under 18 years of age is currently prohibited by federal law. This is a High-Power motor requiring Level 1 High-Power certification through NAR or Tripoli to purchase. Orders containing this item will not be shipped until proof of age (such as a copy of a driver’s license) and proof of Level 1 certification is received.

Certified by the Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA), the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and the Canadian Association of Rocketry (CAR).

Ruby ★★★★★

Put this together for my L2 cert flight and it burned perfectly straight with a nice long sustain. The single-use hardware kept cleanup to a minimum.

Robert ★★★★★

Finally got to assemble the 54mm motor kit last weekend, and the snap-ring retainer made installation way easier than I'd expected. The burn was smooth and consistent right through the delay, exactly what I wanted for my L2 cert flight.

Owen W. ★★★★★

Being a bit of a tinkerer, I actually enjoyed the assembly aspect of this DMS kit, and the 54mm casing fit together perfectly with no fiddly alignment. The single-use design meant cleanup was just tossing the disposable parts, which felt incredibly convenient after the launch.
