I’ve put this foam donut through a dozen hard landings on concrete and it’s still holding its shape without tearing. The snug fit around the bottle neck means no wobble during flight, which makes the whole experiment feel more stable.

The foam bumper fits my PET bottle snugly and has taken a dozen hard pavement landings without a scratch or tear. It’s light enough that the rocket’s flight path stays stable, which was my main worry before testing.

I wasn't sure this little foam ring would make a difference, but it's already saved the bottle from a few hard sidewalk landings. It takes the worry out of experimenting with water levels since I know the nose is protected.
